Snake Oil Cologne is actually a high quality men's cologne but the packaging will make you think twice about the integrity of the product. Each antique reproduction bottle comes in an old fashion drawstring bag printed with a great tongue in cheek story about it's history. Snake Oil Cologne does not actually contain snake oil or do most of the things it claims but it is a great men's cologne with a good sense of humor.

The Claims Are Printed On The Label Are... "Concocted From Interpretations Of An Indian Medicine Man's Recipe. Cures All Known Skin Maladies, Attracts The Opposite Sex, Can Be Used To Clean Guns, Waterproof Leather & Exterminate Small Vermin. Each Bottle Contains Darn Near 4 Fl. Oz. Do Not Use Near Open Flames Or In Confined Spaces!"
   
The following story Is printed on the back of each drawstring bag: "The recipe for our Indian Snake Oil Cologne is the result of our recent acquisition of the memoirs of a frontier doctor and his account of Luke, a trail hand he knew briefly in the summer of 1878. Doc was traveling with some drovers somewhere near the Rio Grande when Luke lost the trail while searching for strays. He ran out of water and became disoriented in the intense summer heat. The next thing he recalled was waking up in a teepee made entirely of snake skins. A wonderful scent permeated the air. The friendly snake worshiping nomadic Indians had bathed his body with a concoction made from the oil of snake skins, cactus juice, herbs, berries and desert plants. He felt healthier than he ever had before. For several days, he stayed in the village and witnessed the Medicine Man making the Indian Snake Oil . Then one night, the Indians blindfolded and led him out of the hidden Valley of the Snakes. He quickly found the trail and returned to his friends where he told of his adventure. Doc was especially interested and took careful notes of the ingredients of the Indian Snake Oil. On Saturday night, Luke discovered that the Snake Oil was a powerful attractant of the opposite sex. Every woman in town found him irresistible and followed him everywhere. Sadly, a few days later, Luke was trampled to death in a stampede. It seems that the Indian Snake Oil attracts cattle too!"
